"The Polzunov" Central Boiler and Turbine Institute (CKTI) was established in 1927 year. This is a leading research and development institute in the energy building area . It is located in the historical part of St.Petersburg (Russia) not so far from St.Alexander Nevsky Monastery. CKTI includes four main subject orientated develop and research parts: power plants and units, steam generation, turbine, industrial energy and problem orientated part including physical and structure mechanical departments.

One of them is the Low Pressure Model Turbine rig. LP model turbine test bench was built in 1970 and then reconstructed in 1994...1996. About 10 different types of steam turbine flow paths were investigated at this rig. These turbines were developed by LMZ, Kharkov turbine plant, Nevskij mechanical plant, MAN and ABB.
