There are following measuring system available or could be used on LPMT:
  • Mass flow measurement
  • Torque measurement
  • Thermodynamic parameters (static pressure, temperature, wetness)
  • Aerodynamic parameters (velocity, flow angles)
  • Vibration and structure mechanical parameters

System Obtained results Description
Mass flow
measurement
Values of steam and water mass flows going through different control sections such as inlet, extraction and outlet Either calibrated nozzles or weighting system
Torque
measurement
Values of force on the lever of water brake Force is measured by dynamometers
Thermodynamic parameters Static pressures and temperatures along flow path, droplet diameters and wetness concentration About 200 sensors could be used for static pressure measurement (the measuring scheme is "one tapping-one line-one sensor" and about 20 thermocouples are available on test bench. Special optic devices developed in CKTI could do wetness measurements
Aerodynamic parameters Flow velocity components and flow angles The test bench outer casing has special places for aerodynamic probes installation. Probes are used for flow path traversing
Vibration and structure
mechanical
parameters
Displacements, clearances, blades and shafts oscillation characteristics The different types of sensors are used (such as inductive, whirl-current or strain gage)


The calibration of instrumentation are performed by Mendeleev Russia National Me trology Center (Mendeleev Institute).
